Sample Work

If you want to get a taste for how I work, check out some of my samples below. Note: None of these are for real clients that actually exist, so you run no risk of finding your own reports, edits, or query letters posted here when we do work together. Just in case you were worried about that.

Sample developmental assessment

This example is for is someone who began working on their novel with the energy of National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo) ahead of them—a fun but intense challenge to write 50,000 words of a novel in just 30 days. But after that month was over, they were left with a haphazard, hasty novelette that was unfinished and barely a solid first draft… 50,000 words with major structural challenges. How do you untangle a NaNoWriMo mess?

Hang on, little tomato.

Sample Developmental Edit

In this sample, you can see three levels of developmental and line editing.

Sample Query Letter, Pitch, and Summary

This example client had finished their novel, polished it up, and is ready to submit—but finds it challenging to summarize and pitch their work. See a before-and-after on a query letter that goes from messy to mesmerizing.
